How can I Jumpstart a Dead Battery?

Jumpstarting a dead battery can be done safely and effectively by following these steps:

Ensure Your Safety First: Park the functioning vehicle with the charged battery close to the one with the dead battery, but ensure they do not touch each other. Turn both vehicles OFF and engage their parking brakes. Wear safety glasses and gloves for added protection.
Next is to locate the Battery Terminals: Open the hoods of both vehicles and locate the battery terminals. They are usually covered by plastic caps and marked with a positive (+) or negative (-) sign.
Identify the Positive and Negative Terminals: The positive terminal is usually red and marked with a plus (+) sign. The negative terminal is usually black and marked with a minus (-) sign.
Connect Jumper Cables: Grab a set of jumper cables, ensuring they are in good condition and have sufficient length to reach both batteries. Start by connecting the red (positive) cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
Connect the Other End of the Positive Cable: Connect the other end of the red (positive) cable to the positive terminal of the functioning battery. Connect the black (negative) cable to the negative terminal of the functioning battery.
Ground the Other End of the Negative Cable: For the vehicle with the dead battery, do NOT connect the black (negative) cable to the negative terminal of its battery. Instead, find an unpainted metal surface, such as a bolt or bracket, away from the battery, and secure the other end of the black (negative) cable to that metal surface. This is to avoid sparks near the battery, which can cause an explosion.
Check the Connection: Ensure that all connections are secure and that the cables are away from any moving parts or engine components.
Start the Functioning Vehicle: Start the functioning vehicle and let it run for a few minutes to charge the dead battery.
Start the Vehicle with the Dead Battery: Attempt to start the vehicle with the dead battery. If it doesn't start immediately, wait for a minute or two before trying again.
Now, Remove the Jumper Cables: When the dead vehicle starts, keep both engines running and carefully remove the jumper cables in the REVERSE ORDER they were connected: Firstly, remove the black (negative) cable from the metal surface of the vehicle with the dead battery. Secondly, remove the black (negative) cable from the negative terminal of the functioning battery. Then remove the red (positive) cable from the positive terminal of the functioning battery. Finally, remove the red (positive) cable from the positive terminal of the vehicle with the previously dead battery.
Let the Engine Run: Allow the engine of the vehicle with the previously dead battery to run for at least 10-15 minutes to ensure the battery gets properly charged.
Drive the Vehicle: After jumpstarting the battery, drive the vehicle for a reasonable distance to allow the alternator to charge the battery fully.
